This week we learned the importance of Social Media and Social Networking and the influences it can have on our website’s performance. Fortunately, I had already started some forms of social media and social networking sites last year, that I have not quite finalized.
I have a company Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Statewide-Process-Services-322099954826670/ that I am working on and have added an actual Facebook link to my website.
This is my LinkedIn account which I also added, https://www.linkedin.com/in/jim-smith-86310312a/
I am working on adding a Twitter account and my long-term plan is to try and incorporate a blog that pertains to some of my most interesting process service and private investigation cases and create a contest of a “Where’s Waldo” type scenario to build a brand awareness of my company and website. I think having some creative fun would be helpful in attracting traffic to my sites. Having the blog would require to me to keep it active and fresh which would in turn help improve the google metrics of keeping the regularly updated.
Before this class, I thought you build a website and it was good forever, now I am understanding the importance of frequent updates and improvements required to retain and capture new traffic.
